Yearbook
Our yearbook is student-funded and student-produced by a class of 9-12 grade students in the high school. They sell ads and books, make pages, take pictures and decide the format and theme of each year's book.
Our theme this year is "Tear it Up". We will look at the ways students and staff make connections between subjects and activities. We will also document the construction in the district and how we are going to "Tear it Up" with all the new structures and opportunities.
We welcome contributions through book sales, ad sales and pictures.
Feel free to drop off pictures taken at events on disks/thumbdrives or email them to us: erika.sponsler@westernschools.org
Talk to a yearbook staffer or email me (Ms. Sponsler) for information about buying an ad or sponsoring a page in the book. Anyone can do this, you don't have to be a business owner. A group of friends could buy a page, parents and relatives can put in "congrats" pages, clubs and organizations can buy ad space too. Page sponsorship is even easier! Just let us know you'd like to help and we'll get you the forms to fill out OR you can download them right here!
Book sales are on-going across the year. Each book costs about $80 to produce which is funded entirely through our sales of ads and books by the yearbook class. None of our publication costs are paid by the district. The price for a book starts at $45 during registration in Aug and increases with each semester. These prices have only increased by $10 in the last 20 years (I know because I was a student editor of The Pride in 1992!).
The current price is $65 and that price remains until the semester when the price will increase to $65.Then in the fall they will be $75. Previous years' books are also available for $75--email to see if a specific year is available!

Did you know that Western's Yearbook is one of the lowest priced in the county for our size school?
We Are Serious--about Senior Pics! Seniors who are still missing their senior pictures-- we will accept your picture on Jan 7th with a $5 late fee and we will no longer accept ANY senior pictures after Jan 7th. If your ID picture is deemed "innappropriate" or disruptive in nature (you know who you are), your picture will no longer be included in the book.

Ms. Sponsler is healing well and is expected to return to school on Thursday, Sept 13. The yearbook staff will prepare books for distribution and they will be available to pick up starting Friday, Sept 14. We are still awaiting the arrival of some name plates for a few books. If your book is one of those, we will deliver those ASAP after we receive them. Thank you so much for your patience while the yearbook staff has been awaiting the return of Ms. Sponsler. 2012 yearbooks Hi All!
While Ms. Sponsler is out recovering from surgery, we anxiously await delivery of the yearbook! We are expecting the book to be delivered in the coming weeks and will sort them for distribution as soon as we can after they arrive. At the latest, they will be available to pick up the week of homecoming. Thanks! Files
